Welcome to Shun Lee House
Shun Lee House is situated on Porthminster Point overlooking the scenic St. Ives Bay with absolutely stunning views to complement the pampered service you will receive with our luxury bed and breakfast.
To ensure the personal service is maintained to the highest standard, we currently only let two rooms entertaining a maximum of four guests ensuring prompt service and total attention. You can sit on our terrace or in the gardens enjoying afternoon drinks or relax in the evenings and watch the sun set over the headland across the Bay.
The garden leads down to the National Trust Coastal Path. Just go through the gate at the bottom of our garden and you can walk the coastal path down to St. Ives or Carbis Bay.
Shun Lee House is named after the tea clipper operated by Captain William John Paynter around 1850. The classic granite house was first used as a hotel in 1948 when tourism to St. Ives was in it's infancy. The owners during the 1990's restored the house to it's former elegant glory as you will see should you stay in this luxury establishment.
Shun Lee House is fully licensed to provide a venue for weddings and civil partnerships, and to serve alcoholic beverages.
We operate a courtesy car to collect you from the local railway station or Penzance Heliport. This personal shuttle service is provided free of charge for our bed and breakfast guests.
You will find the owners very accommodating and helpful. With a maximum of only four guests for bed and breakfast, personal attention is second to none as are the 'cooked to order' breakfasts that you will enjoy while staying in this 'boutique hotel'. If you have any dietary requirements, please discuss them at the time of booking.
Please note that the Shun Lee Hotel is built on a slope with steps leading from the car park down to the Hotel Reception and as such, is not wheel chair friendly.
